An Introduction To The AR9 Gun Assembly
The AR9 Kit is a military style device that installs onto the upper receiver of a mil Spec AR-15 rifle. This kit includes a high quality laser rangefinder, front and rear sight assemblies, an adjustable hop-up system, a vertical flip-up buttstock, and the Mil Spec rail attachment. This military style rail system allows for the placement of scope and/or red dot optics. It also provides the user with an easy to remove rear iron sight. Fiberglass reinforced aluminum housing surrounds the adjustable front sight in a polymer sleeve. The Mil Spec rail attached to the rail system along with the buttstock is designed to withstand heavy use.
The AR9 Kit comes complete with three separate one-piece blanks for the front end of the rifle and a two-piece blank that can be used for the back end. The blanks are pre-assembled and ready to install on the firearm. There are a number of advantages to utilizing the two-piece blank as opposed to the one-piece blanks. The two-piece blanks have a more durable construction, are of higher quality, and offer a larger selection of different sizes and buttocks than the one-piece blanks.
The Magazines used in the AR9 Kits include: A 10mm AR-15 threaded pistol magazine, a tri-fold AR-15 pistol magazine, and a tri-fold shotgun magazine. All of these magazines are fully loaded when the upper receiver is attached to the upper frame with the screws provided by the AR9 Kit. When the entire kit is used, the magazine releases an automatic takedown pin, which breaks off the magazine and transfers to the firearm. The takedown pin acts as a safety lock against improper operation of the firearm. The Magazines will function properly and increase the overall functionality of the Mil Spec AR-15 rifle or shotgun when used with the AR9 accent build kit.
Attaching the Uppers to the rifle or shotgun is accomplished using the supplied uppers. The uppers provide an attachment point for the pistol magazine and for the shotgun magazine. The uppers are made of heavy-duty aluminum and the screws provided are compatible with the screws provided on the rear of the upper. To attach the uppers to the firearm, the bottom of the lower is glued on to the bottom of the upper.
The AR9 Magazine and the AR9 Buttstock are included in the AR9 Kit. Both of these items can be purchased separately. However, if you wish to assemble the AR9 kit and only utilize the Magazine then the price per item would increase. Also, the buttstock is not included in the AR9 Kit and must be purchased separately.
When the rifle or shotgun has been assembled, it should be inspected for any scratches or dings in the metal. The uppers should be examined for any excess glue that may be present on the surface of the lower. If the lower is in good condition and the screws have been installed correctly, the assembly should be completed. Note: prior to shooting a gun in a controlled environment, it is always a good idea to sight in the firearm.
